Flying on an Indonesia Air helicopter, the Minister of Transportation inspects the location of the new capital city

Reported by indoaviation.asia boarding an Airbus EC155-B1 Dauphin helicopter belonging to chartered airline Indonesia Air, the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi today (Thursday, 19/9/2019) left for East Kalimantan to inspect the location of Indonesia’s new capital.

During his working visit, Budi is scheduled to review a number of strategic transportation facilities and infrastructure in the area.

Quoted from Detik.com, it was stated that several locations that Budi reviewed included the Samboja District in Kutai Kartanegara Regency and the North Penajam Paser (PPU) waters. Budi also conducted focus group discussions (FGD) with local stakeholders.

Previously, the Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, Wednesday (9/18/2019) yesterday told IndoAviation that later the development of the transportation sector in the location which is the new capital city of Indonesia must have inter-environmental and inter-regional interconnections.

He also said that his transportation system puts forward the concept of ‘green’ or environmentally friendly.

“The Minister of Transportation encourages that later between offices, between ministries, it will not have to use private vehicles. It is even hoped that in the discussion yesterday, the minister will also use public transportation and it is hoped that the vehicle will be electric (motorized), “explained Budi Setiyadi.

Last week, the concept of transportation for the new capital was submitted to the President. Several types of mass transportation that are considered to be built include the Integrated Moda Raya or Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
